happy bed-day!

Its time to thank our beds for all the good times !
Maybe we should start a new international holiday?
Bed-day! Who is in?
Wrap up. Liv around Lav. The bed around us .The whole world around the bed.
Ohhhh! And how much I do love breakfast in bed
So much to write about beds!
Its gotta be one of the best places to be right?
Maybe I am saying that cause I almost never get my bed to see.
Thats the price for working in fashion.
Hmmmm….

To celebrate the first international bed-day wouldnt it be nice to style up your bed?
The picture above shows a piece of the exciting upcoming bedding collection of the stunning textile designer Alexander Girard for Urban Outfitters.
Bed linens, printed cushions, drapes, shower curtains, a few original classic Girard prints and more. Available from July 2009!
Would also be a great idea as a wedding gift.
Liv found this little sensation on the design blog Oh Joy!
And now: sleep hard and dream rock’n'roll

UPDATE!
Same sex marriage is still illegal in California…
I was crossing fingers, legs and eyes Monday night for a smart decision IN THE NAME OF LOVE by the California Supreme Court…
And I just learned from a cool readers (eastsidebride) comment that Urban Outfitters suddenly pulled their line of t-shirts in the middle of the Prop 8 campaign that support marriage equality, possibly because the company’s owner is an anti-gay right-wing tool who gives generously to GOP candidates and causes.
I didn’t know about that before. So let’s buy cleaner sheets for the bed-day!

heavy rusty metal gift

weddinggifts01
I am in love with these!!!
Found them on the great designed and lovely Blog
Downtomysoul
Not only that they were a hand made gift by a friend of the couple…
They are just incredibly beautiful, really Liv’s taste.
I like that the rust gives the material something lively.
The contrast of the cold metal and the warm rust…
Did you notice that they were made so that their
heads are always facing each other?
Things can definitely be cute without being
pink or ruffled!

Lav had a weird dream last night.
Liv and Lav were sparkling aorund in ancient Egypt….we worked hard on some kind of a good mission. Wearing dirty and ripped leather outfits…
We just got back in the tree , so I can write this post about
wedding tradtions from Egypt!
I was lucky to find the lovely blog One Long Road of Sara El-Sayeh,
an awsome egyptian lady! I guess its her turn to explain the wedding costumes of her country as an insider!
She devided her post Weddings In Egypt into 3 parts.
You can find part 1 ,part 2 and part 3 linked here.
Although its scary that arrangend weddings are still common in Egypt,
this girl will marry her boy for love!
Oh, hell yeah! I really start to love this world wedding tradition topic…

Tonight we will meet in ancient Greece, I would fancy a skinny-dip in the ocean!

color of joy

look4webfreitogetheer-kopie
White is known as the color of JOY!
The color white is good for the body energetically and for the nervous system.
It reflects all colors and symbolizes radiance and inner purity.
Haha, i particularly like the part about the nervous system- very interesting!
Dont you think?
Sounds like good reason for me to wear white on your wedding day.
But if you dont feel like it, don’t do it!
Its your day! If you don’t feel like wearing heels, you don’t have to!
If they give you ruled paper, write the other way.
All colors are beautiful! I love white for weddings, though!
The jelly Oxford worn with the Blushless dress is (again) by Melissa,
its name is JOY !!!

Liv loves the yeah yeah yeahs!
They inspire me a lot, remind me of how f*ing much I am missing
NYC and make my days over here rock!
Jumping through my studio….
High on caffeine (uhm,I am also hard working at the same time)
Oh yeah yeah yeah!
I wanna share this part of lyrics that really got me!
(when Lav told me it reminded him of us, uh,wow!)

Baby I’m afraid of a lot of things
but I aint scared of loving you
baby I know your afraid of a lot of things
but don’t be scared of love
cause people will say all kinds of things
that don’t mean a dam to me

cause all I see is what’s in front of me
and thats you

Well, I’ve been dragged all over the place
i’ve taken hits time just don’t erase
and baby I can see you’ve been fucked with too
but that don’t mean your loving days are through
cause people will say all kinds of things
that don’t mean a dam to me
cause all I see is what’s in front of me and thats you

well I may be just a fool
but I know you are just as cool
and cool kids they belong together

Art.23 of the Universal declaration of human rights:…

look-30_groom

…everyone who works has the right to just and favorable remuneration ensuring an existence worthy of human dignity”, the ethics are in the name. Art.23 is an amazing line of highquality basics.

What happens when French fair trade brand Alter Mundi recruits British
Karl Lagerfeld stylist and man about town Adam Love to design their fashion label?Perfection!
Inspired by the timeless allure of the tuxedo, Love designs beautiful basics with an elegant twist that can adapt to any situation from office to evening and weekends too.

A designer called AdamLove, ethical production and very cool mens clothes…
sounds like a good choice for a groom to me! I would suggest a Fedora with the style above…
Wouldn’t it be also a hot green decision to go without shirt?
(they sell great shirts though!) ; )

Knee socks are the new tights! Thats what bridal-rock-style expert
east side bride posted on her very cool wedding and style blog.
You can definitely trust her style, YOKO ONO and BRIGITTE BARDOT
were also wearing knee socks on their wedding day!
You can find Eco friendly socks at unique nature.
Another hot thing are overknee socks! I love both styles!
Let bare legs rock!
Every day!!! Not only on your wedding!

Let’s share the LURVE !

cover_lurve
Woody Allens amazing declaration of love in Annie Hall
(yes i would recommend that movie!!!) inspired the title of a great new magazine project:

Do you love me?
Love is too weak a word for what I feel -
I luuurve you, you know,
I loave you, I luff you, two F’s,
yes I have to invent, of course I - I do, don’t you think I do?

Taking inspiration from this charming dialogue, a group of of passionate people based in Berlin, have launched a magazine called LURVE.They were looking for a fashion publication ahead of trends and with more depth, yet visually striking.
Miles away from the usual fashion glossy, the magazine puts the emphasis on emerging designers and artists, new talents and creators of our future.
Crossing the fields of arts, fashion and music, LURVE is the voice of a more demanding generation eager to explore contemporary culture and creation, beyond the mainstream.
Pretty cool,huh?

c’mon lets celebrate_weddings in eastern europe

black cat white cat by Emir Kusturica

…I am crazy about movies!!!
Movies are definitely my main inspiration and my treat after a
never-ending week of work…they recharge my batteries and give me new Glitter to move on with my projects…
So here it comes another all time favorite:
Black Cat, White Cat directed by Emir Kusturica
My vision of a perfect wedding has always been to have this massive party :
Celebrate the love of your life! cheers! yeeeehaah!

Wedding traditions in eastern Europe are indeed like that:
Drinking, singing and Dancing are in fact the most important things at an east European wedding.
In Poland they celebrate with lively polka music and dancing.
If a Polish bride can drink from her glass of wine, and not spill a drop, she is considered lucky. Cheers!
A funny hat will be placed on the polish groom’s head, representing the wish that the marriage will be full of happiness and laughter.
In bulgaria a bride as to be asked 3 times to marry her signifcant other, and even in ancient times, it was her own decision! I am impressed!
The Violin is still the favorite instrument at a wedding in Hungaria, for traditonal folk music and gypsy style songs! Cheers to that!
Greek brides wore traditional wedding veils of yellow or red, which represented fire. Really hot!
Consider mixing and matching international customs to your wedding…
Make your own tradition!
