Blushless 2011 Transformation_ The Video

The new Blushless collection takes its inspiration from the spirit of transformation.
Fascinated by the dynamic nature of supernovae and the composed and structured form of butterflies, I have fallen in love with the idea of giving the Blushless bride wings.
The new collection is able to portray these ideas through the use of dynamic silhouettes, transformable lengths and aspiring shapes that change seamlessly when viewed from different angles.

Three pieces have been created to each represent the three states of time:
The Past, The Present, and The Future.

“Life is only what is lived, moment to moment and place to place and space to space and time to time
because you are always you.” Yogi Bhajan

Bauhaus, Baby!

image via Magpie & Rye

I just spotted this fantastic little thing at Magpie & Rye and thought it’s worth sharing.
No rock, but a really cool and simple design.
The New Yorker designer Caitlin Mociun studied at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Mociun brings the Bauhaus notion of combining art and craft to her design work in textiles, clothing and jewelry. Her prints themselves are Bauhaus-inspired, and she draws inspiration from the plant photography of Karl Blossfeldt, a prominent artist from the Bauhaus movement.

Mociun continues to explore and integrate the ever-emerging technologies and critical conceptions of sustainability, environmentally healthy production and the role of the individual consumer in society at large.
Now that rocks!

Make Your Own Vegan Wedding Cake

This is a sponsored post:
A vegan wedding cake appeals to many for a myriad of reasons; you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy it. It’s a great choice for the lactose intolerant, as well as anyone wanting pure, fresh, and possibly organic ingredients in their food. It has an unmistakably powerful appeal.

Of course, wedding cakes of any variety do not come cheap and it’s fair to say that vegan wedding cakes weigh in at the top end. There is no question that the cost of a vegan wedding cake is going to be higher than your more traditional varieties. In fact it is almost twice as much, with the average wedding cake running about £ 3-4($4-$7) per slice and the average vegan cake about £4-£5 ($8.50 to $10) per slice. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for, and quality ingredients and intricacy of cake design all factor into the final price.

A bakery run from home may well prove to be the most economical solution if you plan to buy your cake, but the price alone should not entirely determine your selection. The good news is that there is also another way to serve your guests delicious, pure, vegan-friendly wedding cake without breaking the bank – you can make it yourself.

There’s a lot of pressure on wedding cakes but there are a host of easy-to-follow vegan wedding cake recipes on the internet. Indulge here if you can because your wedding cake, vegan or otherwise, remains the most memorable food at the nuptial festivities.

The recipes below are good examples of vegan recipes; clicking on the links will take you to the respective recipe’s site.

Vegans typically avoid the following ingredients when making cakes: honey, eggs, gelatine, which is a by-product of slaughterhouses, dairy, butter, milk and cheese. There are ways to get around using these ingredients and some proper substitutes include but are not limited to: vegan powdered sugar (home-made or Wholesome Foods, which is found at most health stores), agar-agar, Emes, Kojel or Hain instead of gelatine and Spectrum Spread non-hydrogenated margarine in place of butter.

Where can you find the necessary ingredients for a vegan wedding cake?

Thankfully, Asda comes to the rescue! With help from their online grocery in the form of Asda Discount Codes and Asda Discount Vouchers, you can make your cake cheaply and eat it too, despite the old proverb that says you can’t!

Thanks to a fabulous team!

The BLUSHLESS video-/photoshoot went great.
It was magical to see the dresses worn and in movement and suddenly I remembered what all the sleepless nights are for, and why I have to keep going.
This is what I love. It will always be worth to give everything for it.

Thanks again to all the wonderful people that were involved and made it happen.
Everyone has been fabulous, so was the location and even the sun was shining. I can’t wait to see the results!
I will have to wait for the photos a few more days and the video will need quite a lot of post production,
so it will still be a busy week before the official dress revealing.
But Liv will be back to full blog posting speed soon.
!!!More backstage photos as well as credits to come!!!

1, 2, 3 !!!
