Liv decided to do wedding dresses (and evening wear)
because I love to know that every piece I create will be worn on a very special day. With a special spirit.
I like it when cool couples are getting married. In cool little dresses (and suits).
It just makes me happy.

I want to do something for all you ladies out there that are courageous and crazy enaugh to say YES!

Did you know that the Australian Government offers a special support in relationship advice?
I learned from West Aussie Wedding that all couples applying for civil ceremony will get a DVD about Building Strong Relationships (it turned out the videos are quite crap, but the idea is a good one! Every country should do that, in a tasteful way. Hello you video artists out there!? )

When it comes to advice I am totally down with this : #1 relationship advice: read it here.

On February 14th the chinese Year Of The Tiger started.
Happy new year ; )
On New Year’s day itself, it is beneficial to celebrate, to be happy, to have smiling faces, and to refrain from scowling, quarreling, or criticizing anyone.

Liv really feels she is in need of some new music.
My internet connection has been pretty slow lately so
I haven’t been able to listen to music online and realised:
I really need some new music on my computer.
But anyways. Music is a big topic for wedding planning and
unfortunately not everyone could get the great THE FLASHDANCE
to their wedding. There is a new blog dedicated to music
inspiration for weddings HI-FI Weddings. Written by Ashley who is owner of a recordstore as well. I like it so far. I guess she introduced herself to all wedding-bloggers out there!? So you maybe checked her out already ; )

So now: Whats the best new music, I should get immediately?

Bye bye 2009, I am off to a brand new year.

While my BF and friends are hanging out in the sun, Liv is freezing and packed with work…never mind!
I am almost back to my beautiful best, and I am tinsel, ladies, all over; )
P.S.: I LOVE MY JOB!

Christmas is weird

I dunno.
I just can’t really get excited about it anymore.
I really enjoyed the LivLav (pre-)christmas and was excited for our (pre-)christmas dinner. A romantic twosome christmas is wonderful.
But here with my family…I guess there are kids missing.
(ooops , where did that voice came from?Liv is generally not really into kids)
Or more people. I imagine it great fun to have a huge family and a crowded house. That’s what Christmas is all about.
Or maybe thats what my romantic version of what Christmas should be like.
But its just me and my mum and her new husband at the north sea in Germany.
I love my mums traditional Christmas dinner and the living room with the fireplace and the over the top decorated Christmas tree.
But Liv needs more buzz.
Lav is in Australia and my best friend is in Thailand.
That’s what I feel like: Sunshine, fruit, holiday.
That sounds like perfect Christmas.
I am already over chocolate and all the heavy food.
Liv can survive on iced coffee and mango.
So can anyone please get me outta here?
Maybe I just need a year off, I would love to skip it this time.

draping draping draping and a poll to you readers

Liv is back to full draping fun in the studio, beginning work on the toiles and sketches for the next collection.
Don’t get to excited just yet, there won’t be any unveiling until the time for the official launch of the new collection, which will still be quite a long time away…

But I promise to keep you up to date in the process though, with sketches,
first drapes and moodboards.
One new dress available on request would be this one :

I made it for myself one day in black to wear during Fashion Week,
and got so much great feedback on this one, you can now order it in white as a wedding dress.

This is a cocktail/bridesmaid dress I created for a friend, its funny to see her in a fancy dress, because she is normally a complete tomboy.

I am totally turned on right now by an old painting of Amor and Psyche.
But dont worry, the dresses wont be in old fashioned kitschy angelic stylings of course.
The painting is an inspiration, and that will translate for Global Season 2011.
Just to give you an idea of the theme for the new collection.

Autumne from Our Punk Rock Wedding shared her DIY cupake decoration on her blog:
“This may sound kind of ridiculous but we couldn’t afford the colorful frosting for our vegan cupcakes. I have no idea why colorful frosting costs more. It just does. Instead, I decided to print out 120 tiny little album covers that have been meaningful to Graham and I, glue them on popsicle sticks, and put them in each cupcake.
We also didn’t want to spend $40 on a cardboard cupcake stand so Graham made one out of records.
Yeah, we’re kind of music nerds. Don’t judge.”

Of course not! I love the idea and it looks really fun. Extra points for all the great ideas and for the VEGAN cupcakes
and for being cool.
