Liv decided to do wedding dresses (and evening wear)
because I love to know that every piece I create will be worn on a very special day. With a special spirit.
I like it when cool couples are getting married. In cool little dresses (and suits).
It just makes me happy.

I want to do something for all you ladies out there that are courageous and crazy enaugh to say YES!

Did you know that the Australian Government offers a special support in relationship advice?
I learned from West Aussie Wedding that all couples applying for civil ceremony will get a DVD about Building Strong Relationships (it turned out the videos are quite crap, but the idea is a good one! Every country should do that, in a tasteful way. Hello you video artists out there!? )

After the great Heart Stilettos by Vivienne Westwood and the
coolest shoe in the world by Zaha Hadid, there will be a new designer style launching in June 2010 this time by Jean Paul Gaultier.
Liv loves melissa shoes: They are eco- and animal friendly and having a great design on a really good price.
Thats my story and I am sticking to it.

(Oh and they don’t pay me or offer me free shoes. I think they should though)

weddings and trees part II

still inspired by the wonderful tree photograph I put together a
forest inspired (wedding-) mood board. (yeah I know this is not art! )
You know already that Liv and Lav are living in a imaginery treehouse
far up in the Positivity Tree? And we are close to finally living together in London!

But back to the topic: Treeeeees.
And forest wedding- and home inspiration.
I am sure this bed (via anthropologie) with bedding (via can’t remember) like above could give you the full treehouse feeling, even in the city.

draping draping draping and a poll to you readers

Liv is back to full draping fun in the studio, beginning work on the toiles and sketches for the next collection.
Don’t get to excited just yet, there won’t be any unveiling until the time for the official launch of the new collection, which will still be quite a long time away…

But I promise to keep you up to date in the process though, with sketches,
first drapes and moodboards.
One new dress available on request would be this one :

I made it for myself one day in black to wear during Fashion Week,
and got so much great feedback on this one, you can now order it in white as a wedding dress.

This is a cocktail/bridesmaid dress I created for a friend, its funny to see her in a fancy dress, because she is normally a complete tomboy.

I am totally turned on right now by an old painting of Amor and Psyche.
But dont worry, the dresses wont be in old fashioned kitschy angelic stylings of course.
The painting is an inspiration, and that will translate for Global Season 2011.
Just to give you an idea of the theme for the new collection.

Spread the love necklace! I like it.
Los Angeles-based artist Alexandra Grant has created the Love
Necklace, a special edition for LAXART to support Watts House Project
(WHP). Grant’s work uses language as the basis for images in painting, drawing and sculpture.
For WHP, Grant has proposed a sculpture of the word
“love” be placed on the roof of a house on 107th Street, literally
putting “love on the house.” The lettering and shape of the sculpture
is copied in the elegant sterling silver( or gold) Love Necklace, which embodies both the “hand-made” and the universal aspects of love.

Prada recently jumped on the creepy animal mask trend, and I was gently reminded by my best friend in NYC
who loves wearing his wolf mask at parties. I MISS NYC! so bad. BUT:
London based design duo ORIA did great Wolf inspired jewelry for guys,
that would also make great groom accessories:

LINGERIE AND BURLESQUE SHOW

…at LONDON FASHION WEEK.
I had a fabulous Monday afternoon, watching the catwalk show of Enamore.
Drinking vodka martini for lunch while watching a burlesque dancing performance all made for a really enjoyable show.
All the girls were great dancers and the looked amazing.
The vintage inspired designs really took Liv far away, back into artistic burlesque shows of the 1920´s.
The designer Jennifer however is really forward thinking, only working with sustainable fabrics and producing everything locally.
Her Bridal Lingerie is lovely. It was great to meet her.

Liv was in lingere mood today…whatever that means!?
My new favorite Lingerie Label is ENAMORE, not only because
it’s eco fashion and they are also doing a bridal line,
but most of all because I like the cheeky and cool designs.
The brand was born out of Jenny Ambrose’s love for vintage sewing, patterns, fabrics, clothing and books from which Ambrose takes inspiration to create an exciting range of lingerie; a new twist on the modern Pin Up.

It was really great though, met some very nice people,

Studio is a mess. I am a bad bad housekeeper.
Was nice to be at Hotel Adlon last week.
But: Great Projects are coming.
Im currently planning an exciting photoshoot.
Then some interesting collaborations are on their way…
