LINGERIE AND BURLESQUE SHOW

image by grantgb.com underwear by enamore

…at LONDON FASHION WEEK.
I had a fabulous Monday afternoon, watching the catwalk show of Enamore.
Drinking vodka martini for lunch while watching a burlesque dancing performance all made for a really enjoyable show.
All the girls were great dancers and the Lingerie looked amazing.
The vintage inspired designs really took Liv far away, back into artistic burlesque shows of the 1920´s.
The designer Jennifer however is really forward thinking, only working with sustainable fabrics and producing everything locally.
Her Bridal Lingerie is lovely. It was great to meet her.
Liv is already a fan of the Nipple Tassles & Pasties

SNOWBERRY GIVEAWAY GIVEAWAY!!!

I have a pretty awesome GIVEAWAY for you this month:
snowberry_core-range_eye-serum-15ml-kopie
I discovered SNOWBERRY the natural skincare from New Zealand,
during Berlin Fashion Week. We exhibited at the same green, luxury trade show. Thats how Liv got some great samples of their products. Their Eye Serum is really helpful against Livs puffy eyes in the morning. I was happy to win them as a Blog Sponsor, especially as I like the philosophy of the company:

They do not test on animals; and Snowberry is a certified carbon-neutral enterprise by CarboNZero™ because they accept our responsibility to future generations.
Snowberry Founder, Cosmetician Soraya Hendesi’s lifelong fascination with ‘natural beauty’ and her frustration in being unable to find skincare that she felt she could trust, prompted her to begin the demanding but exciting process of creating her own range.
Snowberry, she says, is ‘authentic skincare’ that women can trust to be both safe and effective, because that is what she wanted for herself, her family and her friends. Find out more here.

For your chance to win a original size Bottle of SMOOTIHNG EYE SERUM
all you have to do is leave a comment completing the following sentence:

LOVE IS…..

Closing date will be 24th September 2009
The winner will be chosen at random on the 25th
GOOD LUCK!

Liv In Lingerie-Mood

neues-bild1
Liv was in lingere mood today…whatever that means!?
My new favorite Lingerie Label is ENAMORE, not only because
it’s eco fashion and they are also doing a bridal line,
but most of all because I like the cheeky and cool designs.
The brand was born out of Jenny Ambrose‘s love for vintage sewing, patterns, fabrics, clothing and books from which Ambrose takes inspiration to create an exciting range of lingerie; a new twist on the modern Pin Up.

Infinity Ring

This Ring is from Erica Weiner Jewelry
I like it because it has the infinity symbol,
like its in the BLUSHLESS logo.
Its really nice and simple.
There is a lot of cool stuff, a fun website and her company has also
a good environmental policy.
“Packing materials are reused and mailers are 90% post-consumer paper and 100% recyclable. About half of our jewelry materials are vintage, dead stock and re-purposed. We offset 300% of our carbon output through www.carbonfund.org. Most importantly, all of our jewelry is handmade in NYC; it always has been and always will be.” Oh yeah!

From bad to rad Porcelain…

magicalforestcollectionbylladro1
…or: a little journey into the weird world of weddings.
Liv is having a great time in London. We went to stunning exhibitions
This one is highly recommended!!! and concerts.
Since our favorite independent shops were closed on Sunday,
we ended up in a huge traditional department store and discovered
THE SPOOKY WORLD OF WEDDINGS in the basement.
I started to feel sick, when I saw arrangements of the most horrible porcelain plates, next to little horse and couple sculptures next to gross silver picture frames, next to wedding dresses with butterfly embroidery, and decorative flowers on the chest…
It all came together to the most dated and tasteless arrangement I have ever seen. We tried to make jokes pretending we were one of those couples…but in the end its just NOT funny.

Please tell me you feel the same and understand what I am talking about.
You are not this kind of girl, right?
Your wedding wouldn’t be that kind of party, would it?
You will marry in a revolutionary cool way.
Still feel a bit sick from that experience.
If you feel like traditional porcelain on your wedding:
I found these rad jewelry pieces, creations of a traditional porcelain house Lladró the collection is called magical forest and wouldn’t it be incredible for a forest wedding?
You can find handmade porcelain rings, necklaces, chokers, earrings, broaches, hairpins and even cuff links…
And now I really need a glass of whiskey!

Ducks will always stay together…

I know that these are not ducks, but at least lovebirds
and the picture is wonderful.
In China, every new couple needs to go to a park to have a video made
before the evening party starts. If two couples meet in a park,
they should exchange a new handkerchief and wish each other good luck.
It has to be red and have a picture of mandarin ducks.
Because ducks stay together forever. Red is central to the wedding theme of China: It signifies love, joy and prosperity.
This custom is about sharing happiness and congratulating each other.
Traditionally, the more happiness you share, the more good luck you get.
Right!!! Lets share happiness….

For cooler approach you can exchange rockin handkerchiefs from the Brooklyn based brand The Hill-Side its a brand-new neckwear Label which is inspired by an old fashioned working class mens aesthetic. Their Website shows that their styles also look great on girls and hey, even dogs.
I love their photos and can imagine a reall great grooms outfit with their ties…

Ola Brazil!!
I noticed last week that there are quite a few of you reading this from sunny Brazil! This got me thinking and after a little
research I found this SWEET BRAZILIAN WEDDING CUSTOM:
Bem Casodos or Well-Marrieds!
Its the most traditional sought-after dessert at weddings in Brazil.
Each Bem Casado is artfully made and is light, soft, airy and filled with smooth, home-made caramel bathed in a special sweet sauce.
I can’t wait to attend an brazilian (inspired) wedding, sounds delicious!
The packaging is also incredible.
unbenannt-11
They come in all colors and materials you can imagine:
Little baskests, napkins, paperboxes, wrapped in lace and beautiful fabircs, with bows, little cards or flowers. Many shops offer them custom-made to the theme or colorscheme of the wedding. Some are kitschy some very very nice.
Each treat represents two united parts sealed by sweet love, support and mutual respect.
According to legend, everyone who tastes them will be blessed with the happiness of newlyweds, Abraços!
so make a wish before you take a bite.

The couple above looks like they are celebrating an traditional Icelandic wedding! Why?
Bedgifts and loads of drinks! Thats how people roll in Iceland!
The wedding would usually start at least one day before the actual ceremony, with lots and lots of drinking and singing and speeches and merrymaking.
The wedding reception still tends to be filled with toasts, singing, laughter, and much drinking. It was customary for the groom to present his bride with a gift on the bridal bed. Today it is also common for the bride to present the groom with a wedding-bed gift. Traditionally the bride would be waiting for her new husband wearing only her bridal headdress, which her new husband would remove. Once the couple were in bed together the priest would bless them one last time and the couple would drink from the bridal cups to seal their marriage.
I really like the idea of a bedgift! I would love to get bedgifts regularly…
maybe than I would see my bed more often….
And now: Sleep hard and dream rock’n'roll

heavy rusty metal gift

weddinggifts01
I am in love with these!!!
Found them on the great designed and lovely Blog
Downtomysoul
Not only that they were a hand made gift by a friend of the couple…
They are just incredibly beautiful, really Liv’s taste.
I like that the rust gives the material something lively.
The contrast of the cold metal and the warm rust…
Did you notice that they were made so that their
heads are always facing each other?
Things can definitely be cute without being
pink or ruffled!
