40s style wedding

Liv in faux fur jacket by ellos

For you winter brides, you glamourous hollywood film lovers, you red lipstick wearers, you curly-curl stylers, you rock’n'rollers, you swingers, you jivers, you mix’n'matchers, you furball loving ladies,
The 40s style just suits everybody, don’t you think? Slap some red lippie on, curl your hair and paint your nails.
I got myself a fluffy faux fur jacket for this autumn/winter, to pair with tea dresses.
The Swedish clothing company ellos, was kind enough to send me this gorgeous piece to review.
Just in time for a fantastic 40s night out with my girlfriends.
Ellos features a range of nice, simple basic clothing- Scandinavian style.

I just found these stunning photos of a true high fashion wedding.
And yes, this is a real wedding.
The lilac haired bride is fashion editor Katie Shillingford and her gorgeous husband is Alex Dromgoole.

When a fashion editor is getting married her wedding looks like straight out of a magazine.

catching up with u!

photos by Clare-Louise for Tiarama, Dresses, Make Up & Hair by Liv Lundelius

I have been busy lately.
So I really feel I have to catch up with you guys.
I have recently worked a great photo-shoot for the great accessories label TIARAMA.
I have done Make-Up, Hair and the dresses for the shoot.
The talented founder Suzanne does all her unique pieces by hand and for her latest pieces she organized a fantastic photo-shoot with a magical team including the incredible photographer was Clare Louise.
We headed out far into the English country side to shoot in an amazing old mansion that was half refurbished half falling apart.
Thanks again to the whole team!

Happy hair days…

Shortly after my last professional hairstyling course, I was looking for the best styling tools, to use on my clients as well as for myself.
I got really lucky to get the chance of reviewing a pair of the famous ghd hair straighteners.
Most people agree that they are the best on the market, but I have never used them before.
This week I got sent a really chic box with the “GLAMOUR” version of the limited edition “Iconic Eras Of Style” stylers.
Including a heat resistant black satin bag, two sectioning clips, a styling look book and the ghd Gold Classic styler.
Not only was I impressed with the packaging and design of the product, it was really professional and safe to use. The styling was super fast and easy. The styler tells you with a beep sound, when it’s ready to use and will also automatically switch off if not used for longer than 30 seconds.
I will definitely use this for my bridal hairstyling!
The styler set mentioned in this post is available for 129,00 GBP.
If you are interested in the award winning ghd products check out their website.

A bridal make over with Josie

Last week on a sunny day I met up with the fabulous Josie from Savoir Weddings. She just featured the first part of our bridal make up session
and interview on my work with brides on her blog here.
There is more to come… ; )

The stunning pictures of us were taken by the talented Gaelle of
Oh La La weddings.
Summer is almost here and I am really looking forward to all the wonderful brides I will work with this season.

It seems like there is a huge 70′s come back this season, as you might have noticed.
The seventies represent HAIR for me.
Hair was a lifestyle and women as well as men just let it grow.
My dad in fact still has his waist long seventies hair and my mum never allowed me to cut it at all.
Ah well, with the result that I cut it off as soon as moved out.
By now I am wiser and I will let it grow again (who knows for how long?)
At least to the length, that I can pull off all this cool plaits and stunning up-do’s.
(By the way: I am doing bridal hair as well!)

The answer is: YES!
I am doing bridal make up as well.
Since many of you asked about my other creative career part: make up artistry, lately I decided to tell you a little bit more about that.
Since I have not only done a lot of my friends and families weddings as a make up artist,
now that I am officially and fully trained I do offer an extraordinary and bespoke service to all brides.
I love to work with “real” beautiful women as much as I love working with models in fashion shoots.
It is a different way of working in many ways from look to product and lasting ability but I am just as passionate about enhancing the individual brides unique features and giving her an all day lasting, glowing look based on her skin type, style and personal preferences.

How it works:
During a first trial and consultation meeting we’ll decide on the look and I will suggest products.
We will be creating the full look, as you wish to wear on your wedding day.
l am able to give professional skin care tips, so you can prepare and treat your skin the right way before your big day.
On the actual wedding day, I will be pampering you and will create your all day worry free make up.
If you wish I will design a customized colour palette for you, so you that you can carry the professional make up with you as well.
No matter if you want to go for a glam vintage bride style or a very natural make up I will be up for it.

My does only look good when its messy.
The messier the better.
I cut it myself (or ask friends to do it) and I never use any styling products.

Liv loves the messy look also for brides!
What about you? Do you prefer sleek or messy hairstyles?

P.S: London is fantastic! British Brides, please get in touch for wild wedding dresses! Blushless now also offers bespoke designs!

How rad is her hair styling? I am such a sucker for messy hair.
It works best with mine anyway!
I also like the dress, the color combination got me.
Liv is a bit sick of all the black dresses in her wardrobe.
Yeah, Im designing mostly white dresses and wearing mostly black ones!
I seem to be in a red mood at the moment, I wish I had more colors to choose from.
We need more color in winter!!! Don’t you think?

We can be heroes, just for one day!
Thats probably how the Georgians roll: They’re wearing jeweled crowns.
And another wedding custom is sharing wine from a silver cup (piala).
Vows are spoken and the couple circles the sanctuary three times.
When I asked a Georgian friend of mine about their customs he told me that the traditonal dances, are still a very important part of the ceremony too.
Even today they perform a traditional dance like this.
I would need a lot training though to get my feet moving that fast.
Oh my god, they look like so much fun!
Liv would love to wear a wedding crown, maybe not the traditional one,
but a feather one would do.
So lets be king and queen, just for one day!

It really was time to do another world wedding tradition post!

BIG and/or MESSY

Liv is always into all or nothing, yes or no,
black or white.
I mean thats what weddings are all about, right?
A decision, one of the most important ones in your life.
Or would you say maybe, on your wedding day?
SO: Back to todays topic-
Big or undone hair, are the options Liv loves for weddings.
This is a great opportunity to wear huge headpieces,
veils and stuff in your hair, and I am totally into doing this.
But Liv also loves MESSY HAIR a lot!!!
And you can rock out without worrying about destroying your
stunning very unique updo.

Australian-born Justin Cooper produces fashion photography “as a representation of desire”. Known for alluring and engaging beauty images, Cooper’s personal work is an exploration of the face as a portal that resonates the inner condition. His work serves as an inquiry, rather than a statement.
Cooper often balances this focus on modernity by punctuating his images with references to the past.
His ability to transform women’s faces into modern workings of art is punctuated with irreverent post production. Referencing iconic imagery from eras gone by, Cooper always surprises with his slick, highly stylized photos, often working in black and white.
