the best thing about britain

image courtesy of Bombay Bicycle Club
The best thing about living in London is for sure all the great music.
All the little venues where you can see great talent all week long.
What I am listening to right now is Bombay Bicycle Club, sooooooo good on a Sunday.
Like today.
Their music is beautiful, though they look so young that they almost make me feel old.
And Dave.I.D. sooo good for partying. Just bought the album. My Dave loves it.
Check them out! Bombay Bicycle Club would make great wedding music as well…

the song in my head…

I don’t know why but this song is playing in my head for a while.
Maybe it’s the cozy winter atmosphere that is coming up.
And because this is a beautiful classic love song I felt like sharing it.
And I never give up and I never give in and I am just changing my mind…

i’ll be back

Cover of the new chemical brothers album…

…that I ve seen on the tube today. And thought it matches my situation perfectly.
With another move within the next weeks, a server/comment error on this blog and an on/off internet connection I am a little bit lost.

If you have trouble leaving comments, please email me
liv(at)blushless.com, I will publish your comments, and if you
add info about your browser, your error message and the time when you tried to comment,it will help me to fix this problem hopefully sooner.

In the meantime, I will pack/unpack boxes, get furniture for the new workspace, and trying to be happy about all the good things here in London and all the massive Inspiration(…that I can’t transform into work right now because there is not enaugh time…argh!)
I had to promise my better half not to stress myself out too much.
How could I possibly think that I’ll be able to keep that promise!?

Today we got a fancy sexy music mix of Beattrainproductions:
Listen to it here.

About this mix
My name is Ari. I work as a DJ and split my time between New York City and Boston. I am often booked to DJ at weddings in which the couples are looking for a very eclectic and distinctive mix of music. Recently, I was thrilled when a couple asked me to come up with a mix of retro french pop songs for their cocktail hour (one of my many record fetishes). Here’s a mix of some of the sultry, sexy french records I played from the likes of Bridget Bardot, Serge Gainsbourg and France Gall.
If you’re curious to hear some other mixes, I have a couple websites:

and http://www.beattrainproductions.com/

The dress above is one of many great costumes by Christian Lacroix for the Agrippina Opera currently shown at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin

What a stunning dramatic wedding dress this piece would make!?

I haven’t seen this opera live but I am in love with the photos and I really feel
like going to the theater soon.(it has been a while)
This one will be a great fashion inspiration. So: If you are planning a Berlin trip soon: GO!

Liv really feels she is in need of some new music.
My internet connection has been pretty slow lately so
I haven’t been able to listen to music online and realised:
I really need some new music on my computer.
But anyways. Music is a big topic for wedding planning and
unfortunately not everyone could get the great THE FLASHDANCE
to their wedding. There is a new blog dedicated to music
inspiration for weddings HI-FI Weddings. Written by Ashley who is owner of a recordstore as well. I like it so far. I guess she introduced herself to all wedding-bloggers out there!? So you maybe checked her out already ; )

So now: Whats the best new music, I should get immediately?

engagement guitar!

The awesome designer and writer of the blog MADE IN ENGLAND,
just got engaged to his amazing girlfriend and blogger of MONSTER MUNCH.
But instead of giving her a diamond ring,
HE GAVE HER AN ENGAGEMENT GUITAR: Now that really literally rocks!
“Rather than get a diamond ring, which to be honest I think is probably the least interesting thing you can spend a lot of money on,
I got her a guitar instead!
Neither of us play guitar, so at first sight it seems quite a random choice.. But her maiden name is Gibson, same as the legendary guitar makers, so I thought I’d get her something to remind her of that when she becomes Mrs Cookie.
I wanted to get her a vintage Gibson (this sort of thing just gets better with age), preferably a 1977 model to match her birth year (and mine). “

Congratulations guys: You rock!

LIV LOVES MONSTERS

Ive just discovered the trailer for the upcoming story book adaptation of
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE by Spike Jonze and I can’t stop watching it.
It just makes me happy. This could be the best movie of the year!
Why am I posting about a kids movie without any fashion or wedding theme?
I think this is a really healthy escape if you are stressing out about your wedding plans, or just anything that might be getting you uptight!

This movie is about LOVE, about friendship & about GREAT MUSIC
(soundtrack by ARCADE FIREas well as music in the feature by
Karen O from the YYY’s
as well as Carter Burwell!))
Seeing all this MONSTERS just feels so so so very good in this polished fashion world.
I love the monsters, they are dirty, they are honest, they are weird,
they are blushless
, they are cute in a rough way and they look like they really know how to party!

I wanna hang out with them NOW!

Blushless Women

muses_collage
I often get the question if I, as a designer have any muses for my collections:
Yes! I do! This girls and their looks really inspire me!
Alison Mosshart, Cat Power, Charlotte Gainsbourg
Most of all I am inspired by movies and photographs, big cities and
the real people, stories from live, broken, dirty and all imperfect things.

This is the last post before Berlin Fashionweek.
Its very exciting for Blushless to present this collection
finally to the public.
I will busy during the next 4 days, but will be back in no time!
Meanwhile you can check out this amazing women and get

Veronicas Veil

lanvinresort2010shortdresslongveil
images via Style.com
…I just received a question asking if its ok to wear a long veil with a short wedding dress…
Sure!!!
“Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrety of purpose & imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace the slaves of the ordinary.”
by Cecil Beaton
Since I presented my latest Blushless collection with headbands or just with wild hair, I had to look to for an image with short dress and long veil.
And: Lanvin delivered! Alber Elbaz’s eclectic resort 2010 collection for Lanvin showed the requested outfit!
It looks quite nice, if you are into long veils.
The amazing girls from Fan Death are definetely in extra long veils, check out their video to veronicas veil.
AND now: Rock your veil, girl!
