time for new shoes…

Posted on: Thursday, June 2, 2011

I have been in “need” of fabulous new shoes.
Being a busy bee at the moment and the whole day on my feet I should better go for trainers or some sort of healthy shoe.
I usually don’t like compromises either.
But hey, I have to grow up or at least sometimes make a grown-up decision.
Just in case you are in the same boat, I have a shoe hybrid recommendation for you.

These heels are comfortable, but they are making your legs look loooong.
Might be good for dance-loving-brides(-maids) as well?
I got my new heels from very.co.uk because of my moving chaos situation I haven’t found the time to go shopping lately.
(hooray for online shopping!)

shoes AMALIE by Sophie Gittins
Liv is a golden girl.
She just fell for this hot heels by Sophie Gittins.
This design drew from the rules applied by the Wiener Werkstätte – Graphic simplification of architectural shapes. The palette derives from the heavy use of black/gold by the movement.
Are there any golden guys/grooms to be out there?
The Gold Hexagon Printed Shoes is a Collaboration piece between Koji Horigome and creator Himbad.
These shoes of art are printed &made by hand in Shoreditch, London.

P.S: Did I mention I wanna have an all golden bathroom?

Rad! JEAN PAUL GAULTIER X MELISSA – will be available in black, caramel, beige, lime and tangerine.

Nope. You wouldn’t convince me jellies are not cool, or sooo over,
or not suitable for a wedding!
After the great Heart Stilettos by Vivienne Westwood and the
coolest shoe in the world by Zaha Hadid, there will be a new designer style launching in June 2010 this time by Jean Paul Gaultier.
Liv loves melissa shoes: They are eco- and animal friendly and having a great design on a really good price.
Thats my story and I am sticking to it.

(Oh and they don’t pay me or offer me free shoes. I think they should though)

lace it up!

…or add some color part II: With bespoke wedding shoes.
(ha that kinda sounds like a pretty cheap radio ad or something)
But Liv is serious. Some of Hetty Roses bespoke and handmade shoedesigns
a kicking ass bridal shoes.
Handmade out of japanese kimono fabric, if you want to add some color.
Or the lace up petal shoe. Even in pink metallic and the lace detail on the heel
this style still seems really cool to me.

Check out Hetty Roses website for more information.

They come in mens and womens sizes and are designed in New York.

I am always fascinated by artist- and creative couples who are working together.

Maybe that will become one topic for this blog!?

Ah oui, this shoes are neither vegan, nor green but they are trés chic haute couture from Paris.
I like their traditional techniques and incredible details.

I feel like I am maybe the only fashion obsessed person,
that is not totally crazy about Paris right now.
Liv had always been in love with New York and learned to love London.
Alright: I adore colette and thats already reason enaugh for a weekend trip to Paris every then and when ; )

lil winter bride

Posted on: Tuesday, December 29, 2009

Liv doesn’t like being cold at all.
So I definitely would never ever marry in winter BUT
I love all those accessories to keep you crazy Winter-Brides-To-Be hot.
I love furry hats and long scarfs, boots and winter clothes.
The black feather stola in the first picture is looking great worn with the white tulle. via Fashion156 we already know from here
And: Aren’t those white lace boots cute? via bitchin&junkfood

To be clear: I like looking at winter clothes, not wearing them.
There is nothing better like the naked and free feeling of just wearing a light
flowing dress ; )

They are designed by Nina Dolcetti and handmade in a small family run factory in East London!

random bouquet

Posted on: Friday, October 2, 2009

shoes found here via twitter thecoveted
Liv was thinking what her favorite flowers are.
But I couldn’t really find an answer.
so I decided to look up the meaning of different flowers and create a bouquet based on that.
Maybe it would look good to just randomly combine different flowers, more like
handpicked wild flowers…thats more my style of bouquet, rather than perfect matching bouquets.

So here we go:
Orange Blossom: Innocence, Eternal Love, Marriage and Fruitfulness
Orchid: Love, Beauty and Magnificence
Peony: Happy Marriage and Prosperity
Poppy (yellow) – Wealth; success
Acacia: Friendship
Rose, Pink: Perfect Happiness
Heather (white) – Protection; wishes will come true
Lemon Leaves: Everlasting Love
Mint – Protection from illness; warmth of feeling

In the meantime I will do some more research and find a few inspiring flower pictures to share soon!

the coolest shoe in the world

Posted on: Sunday, September 6, 2009

I reckon you have seen these already!?
It has been a while since MELISSA launched the ZAHA HADID shoe.
Liv was in love with them within seconds, but wasn’t able to find out
how to get them…
Zaha Hadid, British Iraqi deconstructivist architect and the first female recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, is world renowned for her influential and groundbreaking designs. She has teamed up with Melissa to create one of the most iconic and collectible shoes of our time. This radical style has round forms, asymmetrical cuts, and an absolutely original avant-garde design. According to the architect, the inspiration came from fluid movements which accompany the lines of the body. Each pair is packaged inside a molded plastic case.

Simply put: these are some of the most iconic and unique womens shoes ever conceived.

Now I just got a Newsletter from my favorite little shop in my old neighbourhood in NYC and: they are selling them: here!
